Winters are cold and wet; summers typically dry and mild with temperatures ranging from 10 to 30 degrees Celsius, making an ideal rainfall pattern for viticulture. Pemberton is an ideal place for white varieties.
Pemberton sits between the Great Southern and Margaret River. It is relatively new as a wine region with the first trial vineyards planted in 1977 following recommendations from the renowned Dr. John Gladstone. Pemberton combines southern latitude with high altitude. Vineyards are at around 100-250 metres elevation and influenced by the Southern Ocean.
