Margaret River

From Cape to Cape, Margaret River is around 100 kilometres long and 10 kilometres wide. North to south, the sub regions of Yallingup, Carbunup, Wilyabrup, Treeton, Wallcliffe and Karridale all have their distinct characteristics, divided by creeks or rivers in much the same way the appellations of the left bank in Bordeaux are.

Generally, the reds are grown in warmer northern vineyards of Yallingup, Wilyabrup and Carbanup. Whilst the whites span all areas, they tend to have more verve in southern Margaret River, which is defined by the influences of both the Southern and Indian Oceans, making a very unique climate for Chardonnay and aromatic whites.
