Fernet may be served as a digestive after a meal but also is often enjoyed with espresso or mixed as a cocktail. In Argentina, Fernet is often seen as the national beverage of Argentina, consuming around 25 million liters annunally. It is often mixed with cola or sparkling water or served on its own over ice. Fernet also has a very strong following the US city of San Francisco where it has been popular since before the prohibition.
